Chrysanthemum Plate

This is a beautiful lacquered plate for serving sweets at tea. The color is rich and makes a nice contrast to a rough, handmade chawan. Always great service adn quality here at Yamada Heian Do.

Negoro Lacquered Rice Bowls

This is a sweet little soup bowl or a rice bowl to hold the first taste of rice at a cha kaiseki meal. I pair it with the larger bowl (available at Urusi) for my Cha Kaseki Service. Bacause of the addition of black, I use this for non-Vegtarian foods as well. This is a beautiful bowl and the lacquer work is perfect for the price charged. An incredible value. Plus, Urusi gives great service as well as being thoughtful and genuine about caring for their products. I will be a re[peat customer of theres. excellent service and quality.

Negoro Soup Bowls

These bowls are fun and elegant at the same time. I sue them for New Years as well as any Shojin Chaji/Chakai that I have for Cha kaiseki during a chaji or chakai. I use this for my miso soup or for the Wanmori. It is beautiful bowl and lacquer work is superb for the pricing.
Urushi adds a tactile warmth to any meal and when you combine it with your ceramic (yakimono) pieces, you can help to set a table that will remind everyone of the season.

Tamari Lacquered Soup Bowl

These bowls are elegant , beautifully proportioned and so fiunctional. They can take a weekenight dinner from the mondain to a speical moment for you adn the family. I use them mixed with ceramics to create a seasonal feel at the table. Perfect for all types of soups, simmered items or even noodles. Always great service with this shop. Red Laquered Bowls

This bowl is perfect sized for New Years Ozoni. The rich red of the lacquer also makes this a perfect addition to anyShojin meals you may serve. I use them with other negoro laquer for a vegetarian Chakai or a special celebration meal. These bowls are elegant in form and shape, but can be used for everyday dining as well. I love them for soups as well as a special rice dish such as Matsutake Meshi or Takenoko Gohan. Great service and fast shipping from this store.

These laquered bowls are a beautiful addition to your dining table. The are the perfect siuzes for Soup, Rice and a side dish (tsukuri or nimono foods). the forms feel so comfortable in your hand and food looks beautiful against the lacquered wood grain. very functional and very handsome for any meal.

Every Day Chopsticks

These red laquered chopsticks are perfect for a causal dinner as well as for a more elegant, planned affair. they are in an old style much like Rikyubashi which are pointed at both ends. They are elegant but earthy at the same time.

This Cashew colored tray is the perfect size for a casual tray tea service. Hagi and Irabo tea bowls look lovely on this tray. It's also useful for serving snacks to go with Sake. The urethane coating has a strong odor upon opening, but this can be remedied by placing the tray in a room with open windows for a day or so. Very nice quality and a unique color.

Lovely Wood Tray

This tray is perfect for a casual tea with friends , serving snacks with sake or your favorite lunch. The natural wood color adds a lightness to any table setting. I enjoy this tray on weekends for a casual chakai.
