【L 'Enfer-Another Word For Hell-A Fascinating and Disturbing Tale】 This is a wonderful piece of work. It makes you tingle they way in which jealosy is portrayed as a person living in fear, anger and desperation. But Paul begins to feel jealous of her, her friends and everyone she has contact with.. He begins to follow her when she goes into the nearby village, where reality and fantasy become hard to distinguish for him and for us watching the film. At this point it becomes really evident that he is completely losing his mind. He hears voices in his head, he sees things that arent there or are not reality. One night, the hotel guests are eager to watch a video, filmed by another guest shot around the hotel and on its premises, as Paul watches this film, he sees things, that again, are not really happening. His jealous mind once again creates scenes of a sexual nature between Nelly and Martineau on screen and off. Paul is now drinking heavily and finally creates an angry scene in front of all the guests. Would I recommend it? Yes, to all who are fans of Chabrol's work. I’ve recently watched a few of his movies and each is a masterpiece of filmmaking on many levels and can clearly understand why he is such a popular and well renowned French director. I would recommend it to those that enjoy watching the beautiful French countryside since this film really does provide that in one of the countries most beautiful regions, a lovely village, a lake in the country, a popular inn and its occupants. And, for those fans of Emmanuel Beart, whose acting is as flawless as her beauty, that is, except when seen with all that nasty heavy makeup and lipstick.. Francois Cluzet did an outstanding job playing this tormented character, his demons demonstrated by an amazing array of emotions. But this is not a film for those who want a happy ending or an ending that ties up neatly at the end..for this movie ends in Paul’s hell, which has no end.★★★★
