The rosary is very nicely packed in a case of balsa wood, with “gonenju” written with golden ink on the cover.
The rosary beads are made of sendan wood (Japanese bead-tree; Melia azedarach), are very finely polished, have a nice light brown color with fine, closely spaced dark brown veins and have a pleasant fragrance.
The rosary is very light and nicely handcrafted, with evenly braided dark brown silk thread.
I’m very satisfied with the rosary and would recommend it for other Shingon believers.
