【Haunting, marvelous and beautiful】
There is something so magical, so infectiously wonderful about Celtic music, and the voice of an Irish woman and this CD showcases that feeling incredibly well.
These ladies, while very different in background and style come together easily to form a magnificant group and an excellent CD.
I luv Celtic Woman's interpetation of "You Raise Me Up" .
I believe it is missing the second verse.
Other than that, I was truly moved by all five women on this song.
"Si Do Mhaimeo i (The Wealthy Widow)" is a playful song that Meav sings.
It is a live track taken from their PBS special.
Those are just my favorite moments of the cd for me.
All of the songs on the cd were wonderful.
I definitely would recommend "Celtic Woman" for people who like Sarah Brightman and Enya's music.
So why four stars? Chloe.
No no no no, don't think I'm bashing her.
The problem with Chloe is that she's forgettable.
Her voice is immature, it's weak, and she sings with almost no emotion.
Listen to Ave Maria and you'll see what I mean.
Ave Maria I thought was the weakest song on this album.
One World wasn't bad, but I thought it was...corny?
But the rest of the songs are gorgeous. Orinocco Flow was fun! I actually like this version better than Enya's.
Mairead's incredible.
Her performance on The Butterfly was amazing; it's definately one of my favorite songs.
I especially love Orla's performance on Suil A Run and Harry's Game.
Her voice is so hauntingly beautiful.
And Meav, I personally think she has the best voice out of them all.
Overall, it's very sweet and it's beautiful.
The women did remind me of those two singers through out the cd.
Still, I respect "Celtic Woman" wholly, and I know lots of people who give the group "10's." (Usually people who prefer Riverdance to Grease!) Celtic Woman is a nice warm sound that soothes the listener, without upsetting the super-power status of Australian hotties. ☆☆☆☆☆
